Activities In and Around Magnolia

 

 

The City of Magnolia, Mississippi is located halfway  between Jackson, Mississippi and New Orleans, Louisiana.  It also has a variety of activities that are only a stone's throw away.

Many cultural activities are only a short driving distance from Magnolia.  The City of McComb, only four (4) miles north of Magnolia has numerous art galleries.

The Pike County Little Theater located in McComb also presents five (5) or six (6) plays yearly.

McComb also is the location of a Railroad Museum located in the railroad depot.  This museum exhibits many artifacts of railroad life from bygone days.

Magnolia has two (2) neighborhoods that are on the National Register of Historic Places.  These Historic Districts have some of the most beautiful homes that you would find in any city.

Public Libraries are located in Magnolia and McComb and provide activities for children and adults.

Percy Quin State Park is located approximately four (4) miles from Magnolia and provides camping, cabins, fishing, picnic areas and the outstanding Quail Hollow Golf Course.

Located in Summit, Mississippi, approximately eight (8) miles from Magnolia is Southwest Mississippi Community College.  Educational opportunities are available for full time students as well as continuing education students.  The Regional Workforce Training Center offers a variety of services regarding careers, workforce training, assessment/testing, and Adult Basic and Continuing Education.   Southwest also has the Institute for Learning in Retirement (ILR) that provides various activities for the retired community.  Southwest also has a stage band and theatre class that produces multiple concerts and plays each year.
